Chapter one
The end of the Thousand Year War of Fangs
The end of the Thousand Year War of Fangs
Standing tall atop a bloodstained hill, stood a lone white wolf. The brute’s turquoise optics glittered with gold, the golden splicings flashing in the low light. Clouds coved the blue sky, and rain threatened to fall. Yet the rain never came. The brute lifted his perfect white skull into the air and released a thunderous howl. At his sides, for meters to the left and right, wolves of gray, white, and brown appeared. This was the end of the Thousand Year War of Fangs.
Across the field from the Light colored army, was another army of black and dark colored wolves. Their eyes ranged from dark golden, to blood red. The leader, a large black brute with gnarled scars and many injuries, released a howl, though not as powerful as the white wolf. His red eyes glared across the plains as the armies charged forward. They hit and the sounds of growling and teeth hitting teeth rang out. He stood his place, watching the white leader.
The Darkness wolves fell and others limped off to fight more to please their leader. Though, their leader had no care for their lives. He only wanted to see the white wolf fall. The leader of the Light side. He soon started forward, towards the white brute, and the white wolf did the same. They met in the middle, teeth bared, deep growls emitting from their throats. They circled each other, then lunged. They each met tooth to tooth in the center of their armies. Wolves fell around them, others stopped to watch their leaders fight.
On they fought, each getting hits and blows that pained them as they moved. They jumped at each other and grabbed fur and foot. But soon, they were both exhausted and they slowed down. The Light Leader spoke, as he circled the Darkness Leader.
“It has been a long time and soon this battle will end, Bloodrain. You will not prevail over the Light.” he said.
“It is you that will fall, December. The Light will never shine again and my army of Darkness will over take your land and the Light wolves.” spoke Bloodrain.
Again, their teeth met and they fought. Suddenly, one of the Darkness wolves lunged to help his leader. His teeth sunk into December’s left hind quarter. December let out a deep whine, lifting his head up into the air as he did so. His throat was visible. Bloodrain looked at his troop and smiled an evil smile of thanks. He lunged for December’s soft and open throat with sharp teeth.
December didn’t notice and before he could react, teeth sunk into his neck with great force and pressure. He winced and growled. But, Bloodrain had him. He struggled to fight against the numbing pain. His legs gave out and he fell. He lay on his side, gasping.
At the sight of their leader being downfallen, a Light wolf growled and lunged onto Bloodrain’s back. With great ease, he bit down into the back of his neck. Bloodrain howled out in pain and turned his head around. December was freed. The weakened warrior struggled up and growled deeply.
“That was a cheap shot, Bloodrain,” he panted, “You will pay for that pain.” His eyes flashed and he was upon his enemy again. His furry was only raised when the evil wolf attacked the warrior on his back instead of December. December’s faithful troop fell to the ground, dead.
December growled as the two wolves circled again. The white leader, now stained with blood, made the first move. He was much weaker than Bloodrain, but that didn’t stop him. The armies watched, wincing together at the right times, looking away when the battle got bad.
Finally, December lay on the ground, weak and surging with pain. His eyes were squinted, pained by his injuries. Bloodrain stood over him, laughing at the pain of December.
“The legendary December shall fall by my teeth. The Thousand Year War will pass the Darkness a break and give the wolves of hatred a new life. We will kill all that need the Light with the Darkness of our hearts!” At his words, the Darkness army howled out.
Bloodrain shot for December’s throat again, but instead of his white fur, he got that of a gray wolf. A femora and one of December’s greatest fighters. The Light wolves all gasped and the Darkness wolves went quiet. The fem fell in front of December. His eyes widened at the sight of her dying body.
“No. January. Not you. Please.” December, filled with a new power, stood up and looked down at his fallen companion. “Please live, January.”
“December. You can fight without me at your side. Please win and save them. Save them all.” January’s voice faded at the end and she fell limp, her head on the cold ground, her eyes closed. A rain began to fall, finally, over the armies of wolves.
December hung his head low, nose inches from his fallen love’s body. He opened his eyes and stared right at Bloodrain with a hate filled glare. He stepped forward, towards his enemy.
“You have killed her. My January. In return, you will die.” he growled. His eyes flashed and, in seconds, his body was atop Bloodrain’s. He bit down with ease into the wolf’s neck. His eyes closed with the pressure of his teeth. A small snap could be heard, and Bloodrain fell. December backed away, head hung low, eyes closed.
“It is over. The battle is won.”
